Find #N/A, #DIV/0! and #VALUE! errors across a whole workbook
Formulas that currently return #N/A, #DIV/0!, #VALUE!, #NAME? or #NUM! mean a lookup missed, a divisor was zero or an input has the wrong type.
Why it matters
- Any total that depends on an error cell also returns an error, or silently ignores it when wrapped in IFERROR or AGGREGATE.
- Errors on hidden sheets are easy to miss.
How to find it manually in Excel
- Go To Special → Formulas → tick only Errors.
- Use Error Checking (Formulas tab) to step through errors one by one.
How DraftReview detects it
The value Excel last calculated for each formula is read from the file. Formulas whose cached result is an error are reported with the error code and formula.
How to fix it
- Fix the source (missing lookup key, zero divisor, text in a number cell).
- Only use IFERROR when the fallback is a deliberate, documented choice.
