Frequently asked questions
What does the template validator check?
Each returned copy is compared with your original template. By default any change to a template label or formula is flagged and blank input cells are allowed. Add allowed input ranges to flag every edit outside them, and required ranges to flag missing values.
How do I write ranges?
Use normal Excel references, one per line: Input!C5:C40, B:B for a whole column or 4:9 for rows. Without a sheet name the range applies to every sheet.
Are the returned files uploaded?
No. Validation runs in your browser. This matters when returned files contain sensitive entity or employee data.
How many files can I validate at once?
Three per run on the free plan. Pro validates any number of returned files in one run and exports the results to CSV.
